Clinical Department of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology
is the only center in the Province of Warmia and Masury dealing with comprehensive diagnostics and treatment of children and adolescents with non-oncological and oncological diseases of blood and solid tumors .
The clinical ward is a member of the Polish Pediatric Group for the Treatment of Leukemia and Lymphomas in Children;
The ward has a total of 20 beds. In addition, the care is also provided by the Oncology and Hematology Outpatient Clinic for children and the "one-day therapy" unit. 85-95 children are hospitalized monthly.

Diagnosis and treatment of neoplasms and blood diseases according to the standards of the Polish Society of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology
1) Diagnosis and treatment of hematologic and lymphoid neoplastic diseases in children: lymphoblastic leukemia, myeloblastic leukemia, leukemia of infancy, myelodysplastic syndrome, lymphoma, histiocytosis, LCH
• Cytological, histological and cytometric evaluation of bone marrow and peripheral blood.
• Bone marrow and peripheral blood cell assessment: cytogenetic, molecular and residual disease testing available in cooperation with reference clinical centers in Poland.
• Standard chemotherapy and immunotherapy,
• Access to radiation therapy
• Diagnosis and monitoring of early complications of chemotherapy including microbiological and serological tests.
2) Diagnosis and treatment of solid tumors in children.
Access to imaging tests in general anesthesia: USG, MRI, TK PET - CT and histopathological examinations of neoplastic tissues.
3) Diagnosis and treatment of purpuras in children:
• Hereditary coagulation factor deficiencies (haemophilia, Von Willebrand disease, complex plasma factor deficiencies).
• Prevention of bleeding in patients with hemophilia. The department acts as the Regional Hemophilia Treatment Center for the Province of Warmia and Masury
• Thrombocytopenia, including qualification for the drug program using thrombopoietin.
• Vascular disorders
• Thrombosis - diagnosis of congenital and acquired thrombophilia
4) Diagnosis and treatment of childhood anemia and hyperaemia.
• We have a full range of diagnostics for iron deficiency anemia, vitamin B12, congenital/acquired hemolytic anemia, and anaplastic anemia.
• Anaplastic Anemia immune therap, preparation for stem cell transplantation.
5) Diagnosis and substitution treatment of immunodeficiencies in children:
• Implementation of a immunodeficiency replacement program
6) Monitoring of late complications in patients after anti-cancer treatment: developmental disorders, organ, hormonal, cardiovascular, respiratory disorders. Early detection of secondary tumors.
