A benign polypoid neoplastic lesion with epithelial dysplasia. It may be a precursor lesion to invasive adenocarcinoma of the colon.

Dysplasia irregular cell layering, enlarged cells, hyperchromatism (intensified staining of the nuclei and cytoplasm), the presence of mitotic figures, enlarged nucleoli, increased nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, and cellular pleomorphism.
