Acute Myocardial Infarction
Myocardial necrosis caused by ischemia. A heart attack is usually the result of a ruptured atherosclerotic plaque in a coronary artery or a thrombus forming on an atherosclerotic plaque, critically narrowing or completely occluding the vessel.
