Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin - Minister of Science and Higher Education recently revealed the names of the winners of the prize, which he as a minister. He awards it for significant achievements in the field of scientific, didactic, implementation or organizational activity as well as for his overall achievements. The minister's award is one of the most prestigious awards in Polish science.

Among the winners of the awards of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for 2018 was also Prof. Marcin Mycko, who is the head of the Department of Neurology at Collegium Medicum UWM. He received the award for significant scientific achievements. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical Academy in Łódź (1994). He obtained the degree of doctor of medical sciences (with distinction) in 1999, doctor hab. in 2009. Professor title - in 2018. His scientific specialty is neurology. From October 2019, he is the chairman of the Scientific Council of the discipline of medical science at UWM.
