COURSE REGULATIONS „Public Health”
for students of School of Medicine Collegium Medicum
University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn
1. General information
1.1 The course is carried out by the Department of Emergency Medicine.
1.2 Employees responsible for the implementation of the subject:

1.3 Place, date and topic of individual forms of classes and final credit are specified in the documents: study plan, syllabus, schedule and subject of classes.
1. Didactic classes have the following form: Lectures are conducted in stationary form with the use of multimedia presentations. Recording and distribution of presentations and lectures by students is prohibited under the copyright law. Seminars are conducted in stationary form with the use of multimedia presentations and interaction with students during discussions.
2. The student is obliged to leave outer clothing in a designated cloakroom.
2. Attendance at classes, excuses for absences
2.1 Attendance at all classes is obligatory.
2.2 All absences must be excused.
2.3 One excused absence from a particular forms of classes, including credits and exams, is allowed.
2.4 The student is obliged to provide the teacher with a written excuse immediately after the reason for absence ceases to exist, in accordance with the procedure specified in the rules for justifying absences from classes, exams and credits at the Faculty of Medicine.
2.5 In order to make up for the absence, the student reports to the teacher of the class he/she missed in order to determine further steps.
2.6 In the case of an unexcused absence, the student reports to the course coordinator in order to determine further steps.
2.7 The students are obliged to participate in classes with the group to which they have been assigned. For taking classes with another dean's group, the student must have the written consent of the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Education.
2.8 The students with IOS are obliged to report to the Dean`s Office with which group they will participate in classes in the first week of the semester, in order to be included in the attendance list.
3. Rules for obtaining the credit:
3.1 Lectures & seminars
1. Obtaining the credit for the lectures:
The content of the lectures is necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes. Knowledge of their content is assessed at the final exam in the 6th year. Lectures and seminars are passed on the basis of attendance and active participation in seminars. If the student misses more than 1 lecture or seminar, it is necessary to give an oral answer to the lecturer in order to pass the subject.
2.Topics covered during lectures are included in the thematic scope of the final credit.
3. Obtaining the credit for the seminars: activity during classes, attendance.
3.2 Final credit
1. The final credit is held at the last seminar in written form.
2. Students with unexcused absences cannot attempt the final credit.
3. Grading scale:
60%-65% - 3
66%-75% - 3,5
76%-85% - 4
86%-95% - 4,5
96%-100% - 5
4. One additional date is provided for students who did not obtain the credit first time or for those with an excused absence.
4. Academic rules of law and honesty
Students are obliged to comply with the rules of academic law and honesty. If these rules are violated (e.g. cheating, signing the attendance list for another person), the teacher informs the course coordinator or the appropriate representative of the dean's authorities.
5. Other
5.1 Issues not regulated herein remain at the discretion of the Course Coordinator.
5.2 These regulations are in accordance with the Rules of Studies of the UWM and procedures at the Faculty of Medicine.
5.3 The students are required to familiarize themselves with the health and safety regulations and the EU GDPR directive.
