DIRECTIONS OF TESTS

Current research directions include: the effectiveness of surgical treatment in urogynecology, the use of imaging methods to assess the stage of cancer in women, searching for new mechanisms of etiopathogenesis of reproductive cancer and testing for gene expression in the placenta.

At the UWM Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, scientific work is ongoing on new methods of laparoscopic urogynecological treatment. Innovative surgery to correct female urination disorders and pelvic abdominal lowering repair surgery performed with minimally invasive methods are introduced and evaluated scientifically.

The Department is the only accredited oncological training center in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in which operations in the field of oncological gynecology are performed on a laparoscopic route.

The Department cooperates with the MSWiA Hospital in Olsztyn - in gynecological and surgical teams reconstructive and plastic procedures are performed in patients operated on due to gastrointestinal cancer.
In addition, research is being carried out into new methods for imaging female organs: cervical and endometrial elastography and breast ultrasound. Research on breast cancer imaging was honored in 2017 with the First Economic Award of the President of the Republic of Poland in the category of small and medium firm for the DRAMIŃSKI company for the implementation of the project "Development of a prototype of a multimodal ultrasound tomograph for breast diagnostics" financed by NCBIR and implemented in the years 2017-2018 as part of the Program Operational Intelligent Development 2014-2020 Sub-measure 1.1.1 "Industrial research and development work carried out by enterprises" with the participation of European Union funds.
