1. Acute kidney injury (1.5 hrs)

Nephrology (25h)

1. Acute kidney injury. Urinary tract infections.
2. Chronic kidney disease. Clinical presentation and complications.
3. Hemodialysis. Dialysis access. Water purification for dialysis. How artificial kidney works – biophysical and technical principles of hemodialysis.
4. Infectious and non-infectious complications of dialysis.
5. Peritoneal dialysis. Dialysis access. Outcome and long-term results. How peritoneal dialysis compares to hemodialysis. Dialysis-related peritonitis and other complications of peritoneal dialysis.
