Clinical Department of Intensive Care and Anesthesiology has been founded in 1.03.2010, it’s clinical program encompasses:

  • In hospital and out hospital emergency medical assistance
  • General and regional anesthesiology
  • Intensive care
  • Acute and chronic pain management
  • anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, general and clinical pharmacology

We are involved in teaching the first, second and the sixth year students throughout the lectures, seminars, classes and workshops. During the first two years the teaching program focuses on the basic issues concerning prevention, diagnosis and management of acute and urgent aspects of illnesses including their pathophysiology with a whole separate section dedicated to CPR.

Sixth year medical students are being taught during the 2 weeks period of practical courses preceded by a short test regarding the forthcoming topics and concluded with an oral ( or written ) and practical exam including skills and knowledge of current ALS compliant resuscitation guidelines.

We put a lot of effort enriching our knowledge  with the newest guidelines, reports and recommendations from the main centers all over the world. Our Clinical Department is located in Wojewódzki Szpital Specjalistyczny and Szpital Uniwersytecki in Olsztyn, where we are providing an expanded and versatile anesthetic and intensive care including pain management. Therefore giving our students a chance not only to acquire new theoritical knowledge but also some practical skills by giving them a chance to assist our daily duties.
