Health and Safety Regulations

1.Before entrance the excercise room or hospital ward, outwear clothes, bags, rucksacks and personal belongings must be left in hospital locker-room.

2.The entrance to the lecture and excersice rooms is allowed only for students of University of Warmia and Mazuty in Olsztyn, according to the class schedule actual for Faculty of Medicine.Introducing outsiders to the lecture and excercise rooms is forbidden. 

3.During the classes (held in hospital) students should wear white, clean aprons and change footwear.

4.In all classrooms, strict adherence to the principles of cleanliness and regulations of Health and Safety is obligatory.

5.It is forbidden to: eating food, chewing gum and smoking cigarettes inside classrooms. Using mobile phones, recording lectures, taking photos and making videos during the classes is strictly prohibited.

6.A student whose condition indicates the consumption of intoxicants or alcohol may be removed from the course until verification.

7. Note: the area around the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the hospital buildings is non-smoking.

 

Subject Regulations - Gynecology and Obstetrics

1. Classes are held in the following form:
* Lectures
* Seminars
* Exercises

Recording lectures, taking photos and making videos is forbidden.

2. Classes (excercises,seminars and lectures) are held according to the schedule. The student is obliged to participate in the activities according to the schedule. The student is obliged to participate in classes within the group of students, to which he is assigned.


3. Before entering classes outerwear, bags and personal items should be left in the locker room. Students are obliged to wear a clean, white coat.


4. Student may stay in clinical practice room only in the presence of the Teacher. Leaving he clinical practice room without the permission of the Teacher is forbidden.


5. The student is required to be prepared for each class according to the materials listed in program of the course. Teachers have the right to verify the level of preparation of students, in written or oral form.


6. After finding  a lack of student's preparation the teacher has the right not to allow student to participate in classes and determine the form of making up for students absence.


7. The presence at seminars, clinical practices and lectures is obligatory. Only one excused absence during the academic year is allowed. Each absence has to be excused and made up, according to rules determined by the Teacher.


8. In the case of 2 or more unexcused absences student is required to obtain a credit in oral form as well as making up for classes with another group after prior appointment with the assistant of the Department. The student is obliged to make up for the absence in the present semester.


9. Order, cleanliness and silence should be maintained on the premises of the Department. During the classes, smoking and the consumption of beverages or meals is forbidden.


10. The Gynecology and Obstetrics course ends with an exam consisting of 2 parts:


-practical part: with the use of phantoms, covering the material form clinical practice.


-theoretical part (single-choice test): covering the material of lectures and seminars.


The test consists of 100 single-choice questions.70% of correct answers allows student to pass the test.


11. While passing the exam using any kind of help as well as communicating with fellow participants is strictly forbidden. The fact of cheating will be noted and the person will be disqualified.


12 Conditions of passing the course:
- the presence of the student at classes.
- positive result of passing excercises  (writing or oral form of passing)


13. The following grading scale is held:


- Very good - (5.0)
- Good plus - (4.5)
- Good - (4.0)
- Satisfactory plus- (3.5)
- Satisfactory - (3.0)
- Insufficient (2.0) /fail


16. The final credit is determined on the basis of above mentioned requirements by the Teacher responsible for the subject.


17. All issues not included in this regulations will be resolved by the Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

 

Class Regulations & Credit

5th  YEAR MEDICAL DOCTOR PROGRAMM

I.CLASS ATTIRE

Protective clothing must be worn during the classes. The student is obliged to stay in the hospital in clean white, unbrushed apron and variable footwear (light sole). Outerwear, bags and personal belongings must be store in the locker room. During the classes jewellery is prohibited.

II. CLASSES

Classes (exercises, seminars, lectures) are held according to a framework and detailed exercise program. The student is required to participate in seminars, exercises and lectures.

Mobile phones, notebooks and audio equipment can not be used during the classes. It is forbidden to smoke, drink and eat in the lecture halls and in the ward.

Note: the student is obliged to know the issues discussed in previous years (exercises, seminars, lectures).

 EXERCISES

Exercises take place at the following departments:

 

WSS Olsztyn, 18 Żołnierska Street:

- Gynecology and Obstetrics Department;

- Department of Oncological Gynecology;

 

MSS Olsztyn, 44 Niepodległości Street:

- Gynecological and Obstetrical Ward

 

1.Presence on exercises, seminars and lectures is obligatory:

a) one justified excuse is allowed during the semester (for important random reasons).

b) in the event of a justified absence, the student is obliged to make up for an abandoned exercise with another group; for this purpose, the student should:

- provide an appropriate justification (eg a medical certificate) at the Cathedral secretary's office (7 days from the end of the dismissal period) and obtain a permit to make up the absence after prior arrangement with the person running the day with a designated exercise group.

- obtain written confirmation of doing the exercise and passing the binding material,

c) lack of unexcused presence on the exercise makes it impossible to obtain a semester.

2. Every exercise has knowledge of the study material from the current exercise and all previous exercises.

 

III. CREDIT

The student under the semester takes classes according to the class schedule.

The admission to pass the semester is:

a) presence on all exercises, seminars and lectures.

b) passing the minimum 6 tests (oral or written) during exercises in the semester

c) passing practical skills required in a given semester

EXERCISES

Every day (during the classes) a test of preparation for the exercises will be carried out  (the material covers the subject of exercises, seminars based on obligatory textbooks and lectures).

The test includes three questions in a written or oral form, pass - 5 points, failure - 0 points (max. 40 points per semester).

Obtaining 0 pts from two tests during the block results in failing the exercises in a given semester.

The student must also complete all the practical skills required in a given semester.

The final mark of the exercises depends on the number of points scored on the tests:

> 30 points- fail (2)

30 points- satisfactory (3)

30 points - 32 pk.t - satisfactory+ (3+)

33 points -35 points - good. (4)

36 points - 37 points - good + (4+)

38 points - 40 points - very good(5)

Students who do not receive a sufficient number of points will have an opportunity to approach the oral test at the Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Failure to pass will result in a repetition of the year V.

SEMINAR

The student receives a grade like in the exercises.

LECTURES

The condition for passing lectures is presence at all lectures.

PLEASE REMEMBER :

Students with an individual organization of studies are required to contact the person conducting the subject in order to determine the mode of implementation of the subject.

 

The solution to all problems not included in these regulations is in the responsibility of the Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
